Opal Knapp

April 12, 1913 — March 19, 2008


A funeral service for Opal A. Knapp of Hobbs, N.M., will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at Chapel of Hope chapel. Benny Greenlee, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. CST at Gaines County Cemetery in Seminole, Texas.

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2008, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Knshy;app, 94, died March 19, 2008, at Hobbs Heshy;alth Care. She was born April 12, 1913, in Sagerton, Texas.

Opal worked at Good Eats Bakery for over 10 years and also at Dunlaps for several years. She also enjoyed knitting. She was a member of Hobbs Christian Center Church.

Survivors include two daughshy;ters, Ann Cook of Lubbock, Texas and Betty Gourley of Hobbs, N.M.; two brothers, J.E. Proctor of Abilene, Texas, and Melvin Proctor of Houston, Texas; one sister, Ruth Whitehead of Abilene, Texas; three grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Weldon Powell and Thomas E. Knapp; one brother; one sister; one daughter, Arvella Richardson; and two grandchildren, Steven and Karen.
