Norman Powell

Graveside services for Norman E. Powell will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2011, at Memory Gardens Cemetery officiated by Rev. Benny Greenlee. Visitation will be Saturday, 9:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. October 22, 2011, and Monday the 24th 8 a.m. 1 p.m. at Chapel of Hope which is in charge of arrangements. Norman died October 20, 2011, in his home at Desert Gardens. He was born January 17, 1928, to O. B. and Lillie Powell in Prairieview, New Mexico.

Norman had a very strong work ethic and a strong love for his church and his family. By trade he was a contractor and built many homes and a few churches over the course of fifty years in Hobbs.

He is survived by his wife, Estelle Powell of Midland, TX a son, Darrell Powell of Hobbs, NM two daughters, Darlene Dana of Midland, TX, and Joan Isbell of Hobbs, NM and four grandsons, two granddaughters, and four greatgrandchildren.

Preceding Norman in death were his parents, five sisters, four brothers, and Bobbie Powell, his first wife.
