Norma Johnson

Norma Estelle Johnson was born November 14, 1928 in Mt. Ida, Arkansas to William Alton and Pearlie Marie Dowdy . She passed away November 26, 2014 in Lovington, New Mexico at the age of 86 years.

Norma lived in Oklahoma from 19471955 before moving to the Lubbock, Texas area. In 1966, she moved to Texhoma, Oklahoma. She was an active member of the Texhoma Church of Christ for 40 years. In October of 2005, she moved to Lovington, NM where she lived until her death. Norma was a student of the Bible and enjoyed studying with friends. She deeply cherished her family and lived her life as a devout Christian. Norma was pure in spirit and kind at heart.

Beloved mother of Paula Jean Hamilton of Hobbs and Carol Ann Guzman of Denver, CO. Proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren. Norma was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Jim Paul Johnson, a son Jimmy Don Johnson, 3 brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held December 3, 2014 at the Texhoma Church of Christ at 2pm CST. ,Minister Ron Eggleston officiating. Burial will follow in the Texhoma Cemetery. Norma will be in state at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home on Monday, December 1 from 10 am till 6 pm with the family in attendance from 4:30 till 6.
