Nita Haschets

March 17, 1926 — January 17, 2017

Nita Ruth Martin Haschets, passed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior on January 17, 2017, exactly twelve years after the death of her precious husband, Andrew Haschets. Nita was born March 2, 1926, in Limestone County, Texas. When she was two they moved to Sudan, Texas, and at age 5, to Littlefield, Texas. The family moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, when Nita was 9 and her parents opened a laundry and her dad worked in the oil field.

Nita met Andy Haschets, the love of her life, while he was stationed at the Hobbs Air Base and they married on December 24, 1944. She graduated from Hobbs High School in 1945. Andy and Nita had two children, Connie Haschets White and Rodney Haschets, Jr. Nita retired from First Interstate Bank (Wells Fargo) as vice president of personnel in 1989. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Mrs. Haschets moved to Sun Lakes, AZ, in 2005 to be near her daughter, and in 2013 moved in with her daughter, Connie and son-in-law, John, where she passed away surrounded by love.

Mrs. Haschets was preceded in death by her parents Andrew Washington Martin and Eula Johnson Martin, her brothers Marion and Murray Martin, and her only son, Rodney Haschets. She is survived by her daughter Connie Haschets White and her son-in-law, John, Sun Lakes, AZ, her grandaughters, Amanda Leigh Neilson and husband Nicholas, of Colorado Springs, Co., Allison Ruth Mangrum and husband Derek, of Gilbert, Az, Cindy Haschets Ganaway and husband, Dave, of Carlsbad, NM, and grandson, John Haschets and wife Jennifer, of Carlsbad, NM. Nita is also survived by her great grandchildren John Warren Mangrum and Samuel Derek Mangrum of Gilbert, AZ, Andrew James Neilson and Alexander Nicholas Neilson of Colorado Springs, CO, Rodney Ganaway, Brandon Ganaway, and Emily Ganaway, of Carlsbad, NM, and Connor Haschets and Colby Haschets, of Carlsbad, N M.
