Funeral services for Neal D. King, 78, of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Highland Baptist Church with Guy Coupe officiating. Interment will be at Hagerman Cemetery, Hagerman, NM, at 3 p.m.
Mr. King died February 14, 2011, in Hobbs. He was born December 7, 1932, in Artesia, NM. He married Edna Leudecke January 17, 1975, in Hobbs.
Neal graduated from Hagerman High School in 1951, and earned a BS in math from ENMU in 1955. He went to work for General Dynamics and became a nuclear engineer. Later Neal became a land surveyor, licensed in 3 states, and later became owner of King Surveying in Hobbs. He was well known for his integrity and accuracy in surveying. He operated his business successfully for over 30 years. Neal was adored by his wife and served as an excellent role model for his children and grandchildren. He was a devout Christian who lived his life for Christ. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
King is survived by his wife, Edna King, of Hobbs three daughters, Alice
Bowles, and husband Sonny, of Fort Worth, TX, Julie King of Fort Worth, TX, and Theresa Roth, and husband Rich, of Denver, CO three sons, Steve King, and wife Sharon, of Lubbock, TX, Rick King of Fort Worth, Tx, and Tommy Lehman of Lubbock, TX 11 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
