Naomi Whitehurst

Funeral services for Naomi Honey Whitehurst of Hobbs, N.M., will be held 10 am. Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Pastor Keenan Witcher officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemshy;etery.

Mrs. Whitehurst, 92, died March 3, 2008, at Lea Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 20, 1915, in Peacock, Texas. She married R.L. Whitehurst in 1936.

Mrs. Whitehurst was a loving wife and mother. Her family was her life. Honey was very active in her church until her health prevented that activity. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Northern Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Baird and husband Bruce of Hobbs, N.M., Louise Hughes and husband Lowell Odis of Hobbs, N.M., Sandy Russell and husband David of Ozawkie, Kan., and Danielle Callahan of Hobbs, N.M.; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.S. Whitehurst in 1991; her parshy;ents, Sevier and Lizzie McDonnell; five brothers; and one sister.
