Murriel Simpson

Maxine Simpson was born February 8, 1932, in Abernathy, TX. She died January 16, 2012, in Hobbs, NM, at the age of 79. Her family moved to Artesia, NM, when she was two there she went through school and graduated in 1950. Maxine married Roy Buzbee in 1950, and that union was blessed with four boys. After they divorced in 1962, she was transferred to Hobbs with Conoco in 1963. In 1971 she married Ben Simpson and they were married until his death in 2006. She retired from Conoco in 1990 with 30 years service. Maxine loved to travel and had been all over the world and most of the fifty states.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Surviving Maxine are her sons, Ronald, and wife Shirley, and Dale, both of Colorado Springs, CO, Gary, and Glenn Buzbee both of Springfield, VA stepsons, Gerald, and wife Juanda, and Keith, and wife Cherrye Simpson, both of Hobbs 12 grandchildren and 6 greatgrandchildren. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2012, at Chapel of Hope, which is in charge of arrangements, presided by Pastor Jotty Kinney. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 1 6 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. until service time at Chapel of Hope..
