Murrell Cooper, 87, died March 21, 2007, at Good Samaritan Village. She was born March 2, 1920, in Amarillo, Texas.
Murrell was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church since 1944. Murrell was known for her pie ministry. She baked pies for family and friends to celebrate a happy occasion or to help in illness or death. Murrell sewed for herself and her daughters. She never said an unkind word about anyone and was happy to share what she had with anyone who needed help. Murrell was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include three daughters; Martie Bateman of Hobbs, N.M., Evelyn Thomas of Marlow, Okla., and Carolyn Manney of Weatherford, Texas; a brother, Donald Trice of Jal, N.M.; two sisters; Katheryn Wilson of Hobbs, N.M., and Barbara Wilder of Denver City, Texas; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatshy;grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin A. Cooper, in 1999.
