Muriel T. Goodgame was born July 3, 1926 in Paducah, TX to Henry Eddie Goodgame. He passed away in Hobbs on November 26, 2014.
He graduated from Valley View High School in Cottle County, TX in 1944. Muriel served in the U.S. Army from September 1944 to October 1946, during WWII where he received a Purple Heart and a South Pacific Bronze Star. On October 20, 1949 in Odessa, TX, he married Louise Motley. He worked for 50 years in the oilfield industry retiring from Baker Oil Tools in 1981, from ARCO in 1991 and worked as a consultant until 1997.
He is survived by one son, Gary Goodgame of Hobbs, his brother Melvin Goodgame and wife Joyce of Odessa, TX. His grandchildren Brandon Goodgame and wife Jill of San Antonio, TX, Brittany Warren and husband Chad of Hobbs, Christopher Goodgame of Phoenix, AZ, Kerri Thornton and husband Michael, Victoria Contreras and Kayla Goodgame of Albuquerque, NM. Eight great grandsons, one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Louise, parents, Henry and Eddie Goodgame, 3 brothers Lee Goodgame, Nolan Goodgame and Clifton Goodgame 6 sisters, Lena Finch, Rena Goodgame, Willie Mae Goodgame, Lottie Bee Black, Nina Black and Mildred Cito and 1 grandson, David Goodgame.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 2 from 8 until service time. Services will be held Tuesday, December 2 at 2:00 pm, at Chapel of Hope, with Pastor Mike McGuire officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
