Mitchell Torrez

Mike Torrez died April 15, 2021, in Hobbs, NM. He was born April 22, 1947 in Roswell, NM to Joe Torrez and Mary Lopez. He had twelve brothers and sisters.  He married Alice Richardson on December 29, 1990, in Las Vegas, NV.

Mike graduated from Hobbs High School in 1966.  He joined the US Air Force on June 3, 1966 and was stationed in England. He was Honorably Discharged in October of 1969.  He worked as a field mechanic for several Mid-stream companies until his retirement from DCP in January of 2020.

Surviving Mike is one son, Matthew and Jennifer Torrez of Prescott, AZ, two daughters: Vanessa Torrez of Roswell, NM, and step-daughter Terri Crow, and husband Richard, of Kermit, TX; six step-sons: Ismael Izzy Ortega, Jr., and wife Raquel, of San Antonio, TX, Mike Rivera Ortega, and wife Elise, of Hurst, TX, Joel Ortega, and wife Yolie, of El Paso, TX, Roy Richardson, and wife Karen, of Kermit, TX, Scott Richardson, and wife Barbara, of Jupiter, FL; Siblings: Erline Coleman, Virginia Stone, Richard Torrez, Joe Torrez, Johnny Torrez, Mary Ortega,  Jim Torrez,  Fernando Torrez and Joe Torrez of California; nineteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Preceded by his loving wife, Alice, on June 13, 2013, his parents, and three brothers: Paul, Larry, and Tony Torrez.
