Milton “Dale” Appleton 79 was born February 7, 1942, in Hobbs to Ivy Guy Appleton and Ila Mae (Langley) Appleton. Dale left this world on June 13, 2021, at his home in Hobbs.
Dale worked in the potash mines for 30 years before retiring to spend time with his family. He loved to go camping, hunting, and enjoyed going to bow shoots. He was a proud member of the Loyal order of the Moose and was very proud of the fellowship degree he earned. Dale loved spending time with his granddaughters and looked forward to family night every week.
Dale was preceded in death by his both his parents, three brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by one sister Mitizi and husband Joe Bishop of Hobbs, one brother Alton Appleton of Hobbs, daughter Tina and husband Michael Palmer of Dexter, N.M., daughter Teresa and husband Todd Lutz of Meridian, Idaho, son Steven and wife Tina Appleton of California, daughter Tonja and husband J.J. Johnson of Hobbs, granddaughter Chloe Johnson and fiancé Koby Farmer, and great grandson Kailor Farmer all of Hobbs, granddaughter Katlyn and husband Ryan Backus, and great grandson Jack Backus all of Hobbs. Also, six other grandchildren and seven other great grandchildren.
Dale was a devoted father and grandfather. He was a good man and a great friend to many. He will be missed but never forgotten.
