Funeral services for Mildred Janece Duke of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be 10 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2008, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Chidester officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery. There will be a private family visitation. The family will greet friends 2- 3 p.m. Sunday at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Mrs. Duke, 75, died August 13, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. She was born June 28, 1933, in Goldthwaite, Texas. She marrshy;ied Roy Alvin Duke on October 8, 1949, in Lovington, New Mexico.
Janece was a very organized person who liked everything done in a timely manner. She enjoyed working around her horne and yard. She greatly enjoyed family get-togethers because her family meant so much to her.
Janece was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Jerry Duke and wife Judy of the home; a brother, Glyndon Montgomery and wife Carole of Steele, Moissouri; two grandchilshy;ren, Kristi Bowman and husshy;and Jeff of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Kala Duke of Hobbs, New Mexico; and two great-grandsons, Kamden and Kason Bowman of Hobbs, New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Mildred Bernice Montgomery, and her husband, Roy, who died in 1991.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
