Mildred Louise Brown was born on February the 26th, 1940 to the late Zeak Lovell and Jimmie Lee Williams in Quitaque TX. The family moved to Hobbs in 1942, where they planted roots and became lifetime citizens of Hobbs.
She attended Booker T Washington, then went on to pursue various fields of employment.
Mildred grew up with a passion for bowling and softball where she developed friendships that endured the test of time.
Mildred was a long-time member of St John Baptist church where shared her talents, hospitality and love of cooking with her church and community.
She loved playing cards with her family, watching the Warriors play, and watching the NFL & CFL. She was her grandson's biggest fan! She was a Pac-Man aficionado!
She had a genuine love and commitment to her family especially her grandchildren. She had unconditional love for any child or person that came through her front doors. Her home was always open to anyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Zeak Lovell Williams Jr, her sister-in-laws; Carolyn and Yvonne Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brother Terry Williams, her uncle Arnett Williams and aunt Exer Jackson and aunt Vera Williams. Also, her children: Debra Williams, Theresa Shanklin, husband Nelson, Wallace Williams, wife Carol. Annette Stevens, Sandra Brown, and Truman Brown, and his girlfriend, Toni, grandchildren: Tiwoni Shanklin, wife Georgette, Renee Barbian, husband Jesse. Terry Shanklin, wife Jamie, Christopher Williams, wife Lana. Marcus Williams, DJ Shanklin and Luke Olivas Brown, ten great- grandchildren, ten nieces and nephews and many other family members and "adopted through love" children.

There are no words to express how grateful we are to these wonderful angels who loved "Granny "like family.
