Melba Drake

On November 19, 2013, Melba Earlene Peeples Drake departed this life for her eternal home, where she is rejoicing with many loved ones who have gone on before her.
She was a resident of Hobbs, N M for 46 years, where she and her husband were self employed. She served faithfully in her local church, Church at Hobbs.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Drake, her son Keith Peeples and a daughter, Heather Hornbuckle, all of Hobbs.
Survivors also include 2 brothers, Wilburn Brock of Heber Springs, Arkansas Randall Brock of Carlsbad, NM: and 1 sister, Patricia Browder of Jasper, GA.
Four step sons John Drake of Fowlerville, MI James Drake of Holt, Michigan Jacob Drake of Michigan Joshua Drake of Cotulla, Texas
Two step daughters, Pam Shurley of Midland, Texas and Stella Burton of Hobbs.
Four stepbrothers, Frank Ramsey, Kenneth Ramsey, Don Ramsey and Steve Ramsey of Houston, Texas. One stepsister, Vivian Gill, of Huntsville, Texas.
3 grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Melba Brock, a husband Lonnie Peeples, a brother Wesley Brock, a stepbrother Gary Ramsey, a stepsister Wanda Shroyer, and a stepson Joseph Drake.
Earlene will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at Chapel of Hope, and again Friday, November 22, 2013 from 8:00 am until service time. The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor John Ayers, 10:00 am, Friday, November 22, 2013 at Chapel of Hope.
