Maude Helms

Maude Eloise Helms, 92, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, in EI Paso, Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church in EI Paso, Texas, and past president of the Black Gold Grandmothers Club in Hobbs, N.M ..

Maude is survived by her five children, a son, Vernon Helms and wife Trudy of Dawsonville, Ga.; a daughter, Genell Emerson of Midland, Texas; a son, Wayne Helms and wife Nelda of Hobbs, N.M.; a daughter, Peggy Dieter and husband Philipp of EI Paso; and son, Rick Helms and wife Blenda of Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Cannon. She had 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great -great-grandchildren.

She was a woman of faith who raised her family in the love and admonition of the Lord. She had a servant heart and was involved for many years with Meals on Wheels serving families in Hobbs, N.M.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 2, in the Chapel of Hope Chapel. A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, in the Chapel of Hope Chapel in Hobbs, N.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of EI Paso, 1750 Curie Drive, EI Paso, TX 79902 or Foundation at First Baptist Church, 805 Montana, EI Paso, TX 79902.
