Marilyn (Mary Jo) Tilley was born in Claremont, Minnesota in 1926. As a young flight attendant she moved to Fort Worth, TX in 1949 where she would meet and marry Cecil her husband. In 1962 the family moved to Hobbs where Mary would spend the next 52 years as an avid supporter and volunteer of Hobbs' School District, the Presbyterian Church, the CP center, election official and other organizations. Mary was an ardent fan and supporter of the Community Playhouse where in 1999 she received the Tom Mason Award for her years of service. In more recent years she became a supporter, volunteer and donor for the Western Heritage Museum located on the NMJC campus. Mary donated oilfield artifacts displayed at the museum from Cecil's life as a Petroleum Engineer. A loving mother, dedicated wife, lifetime friend, Mary Jo is survived by her two sons, Scooter of Midland, TX and Mike of Arlington, TX along with his wife Karen and four children. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM January 10, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church, Hobbs. In Lieu of Flowers, a donation may be made to the Western Heritage Museum or Hobbs Community Playhouse in Mary's Honor.
