Mary Sherfick

Mary J. Sherfick of Hobbs passed away Sunday, August 14, 2010, at her home which she shared with her husband of 63 years, Goerge O. Sherfick.

Mary was born on Valentines Day, February 14, 1931, in Vernon, Texas. George and Mary owned and operated the Bel Aire Bowl in Hobbs for 51 years, which is still open and operated by their sons.

Mary is preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Pope, who passed away a mere 24 days earlier on July 22, 2010, in Midland, Texas her granddaughters, Jessica Jane Bridges, who passed away in 1989 and Shelby Jane Sherfick, who passed away in 1995 a grandson George Michael Sherfick, Jr., who passed away in 1996 and two sisters.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, George O Sherfick three sons, George M. Sherfick, Charles M. Sherfick and Douglas K. Sherfick and daughter Mary L. Bridges, all of Hobbs, New Mexico. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Bel Aire Bowl located in the Bel Aire Shopping Center on Monday, September 6, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. for all family and friends who would like to attend.
