Mary Kathryn Kaki Boroughs, 82, gracefully shed her mortal body on March 2, 2007, and now celebrates etershy;nal joy with her Lord and Savior, after a brief, but valiant battle with cancer.
She was born April 10, 1924, in Graham, Texas, and moved to Hobbs in 1929 where she grew up, graduated from Hobbs High and was Miss Hobbs. As a young woman, she lived in Lake Charles, La., and Oklahoma City, Okla., returning to Hobbs in 1945. '
Kaki married Andrew Alvin Andy Boroughs on Jan. 14, 1946, and they raised two sons. She was a loving, nurturing and devoted mother and their home was a gathering place for children, as family and friends were a vital part of her life. She listened for countless hours to their adventures, accomplishments and troushy;bles and imparted strength, wisdom and love through her words and deeds. She enjoyed fishing and her friendly and not-so-friendly card games with family and friends. Kaki and Andy were members of First Baptist Church in Hobbs.
She resides in Heaven with her parents, Guy L. and Anna I. Vaughn, and her husband of 56 years, Andy.
She is survived by two sons, Guy E. Boroughs and wife Charlotte of Crowley, Texas, and Ron Boroughs and wife Kim of Plano, Texas; three grandchildren, Guy E. Boroughs II and Philip M. Boroughs and Sydney Kathryn Boroughs; and numerous cousins.
