Marvin Bownds

Marvin Bownds, 71, passed away December 7, 2013 in Lubbock, Texas. Marvin was born May 9, 1942 in Muleshoe, Texas to Ray and Dottie Bownds.

Marvin married Donna, his wife of 48 years, on July 2, 1965. He worked in the autobody repair business for over 35 years. He was the owner of Hobbs Body Works. Marvin loved his work, especially restoring old cars and trucks. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Donna daughter, Leann Jones husband Jaeson Jones of Buda, Texas sons, Michael Bownds fiance Mendi Tramell of Hobbs, and Stephen Bownds wife Mindy Bownds of Austin, Texas two grandchildren, Jaecob and Jenna Jones mother Dottie Bownds brother Charles Bownds and sisters, Glenda Lindsey and Darlene Hayes.

Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Ray Bownds.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 11, 2013, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Chapel of Hope.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Chapel of Hope. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
