Martha Garner

Martha Jo Garner passed away on October 18, 2019.  She was born June 10, 1935 in Eunice, NM to Joe and Opal Pharis.

Sammie Garner and Martha had a wonderful 51 years together and were married January 6, 1968.

Martha graduated from ENMU with an A.A.  She was employed by Daniels Insurance and Phillips Petroleum.

The Garner’s hobbies included restoring old cars and enjoyed being members of Zia Rodders.  Martha enjoyed line dancing with the Dancing Grannies.  She was also a member of Red Hat Society with her sister in Carlsbad.

She is survived by her husband, Sammie; two sisters, Fanell Scudder of Kentucky, and Jerry Sue Bigelow of Carlsbad; son, Philip Garner of Hobbs and daughter, Kim Garner of Colorado; six grandchildren, Krista, Daniel, Preston, Stephani, Sam and Nicolle; and three great-grandchildren.
