Martha Evans

Funeral services for Martha E. Evans of Hobbs, N.M., are 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at New Life Fellowship with Pastor Millie Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation is 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2007. The family will greet friends from 4-5 p.m.

Mrs. Evans, 72, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born Dec. 6, 1934, in Athens, Texas. She married Mickey Evans on Jan. 11, 1952, in Hobbs, N.M.

She supported her church, New Life Fellowship, and comshy;munity for many years by volshy;unteering every chance she could in many says. She loved to sing in the Jubilee Choir for over 10 years and also worked as a Pink Lady for over four years. Martha held offices for the Lea County Oil Wives Club for many years.

Survivors include her husshy;band, Mickey Evans of Hobbs, N.M.; two sons, Clinton Evans of Borger, Texas, and Kent Evans of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter, Michelle Anstey of Canyon, Texas; a brother, Henry Young of California; three sisters, Sharon Taylor of Minnesota, Pat Sitchler of Colorado, and Sue Plattsmier of Texas; and four grandchilshy;dren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Wilma Dean Young.
