Marlene Ann (Brown) Nauert, 81, of Hobbs, New Mexico, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. She is the wife of John Rondal Nauert.
Born July 2, 1940, in Odessa, Texas, she was the daughter of Elam Clarence Maxwell and Belva Beatrice Esman Maxwell. Upon graduation from Odessa High School, she worked for FIsher Scientific in Odessa.
Marlene received her degree in Elementary Education with a minor in English and certification in Special Education from Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1973. Marlene received her Masters of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Educational Diagnosis from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico. Marlene taught school in Texas and New Mexico and ended her teaching career as the Hobbs Independent School District Diagnostician.
Marlene worshipped her Lord and Savior at the Jefferson Street Church of Christ in Hobbs. She loved her children whom she taught to worship Christ.
Marlene is survived by: her husband John Rondal Nauert, her children, Scotty Abbott and wife, Helene, George Anne Foster and her husband Dale, grandchildren Morgan, Nichole, Jonathan, Kelly and his wife, Selena, John (Streeter) and 4 great grandchildren, one sister, Clematis Jo Grogan, one niece and 2 nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Kelly Estrada, John (Streeter) McCarthy, Andres Estrada, Isaiah Estrada, Keith Grogan, and Paul Grogan.
