Marion Whitley

Mrs. Whitley, 79, died Monday, May 14, 2007, at Lea Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 3, 1927, in Vernon, Texas. She married Joe Pat Forbes on April 8, 1944, in Colorado City, Texas.

Mrs. Whitley raised her famshy;ily in Hobbs, N.M. She was a wife, mother, businesswoman, hostess and friend to many.

She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Forbes of Hobbs, N.M.; two daughters, Patsy Hodges of Hobbs, N.M., and Lana Hogue of Midland, Texas; a brother, Benny Whitley of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Janell Whitley of Hobbs, N.M.; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents, F.M. and Alpha Mae Whitley; a son, Billy Don Forbes; two brothers, Garland and Herman Whitley; a sister, Alpha Smith; and a grandshy;daughter, Patty Simon.
