Marie Isbell

Marie Isbell, 94, passed away in Hobbs, New Mexico on March 20, 2014. Marie was born August 14, 1919 in Olustee, Oklahoma to Carl and Bessie Dendy. On September 9, 1940 Dorothy Marie Dendy married Denzel Truett Isbell in Crosbyton, Texas.

Mrs. Isbell was a longstanding member of St. Pauls Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Young at Heart Club. She also enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Club. Marie worked as an operator at Lea Regional Medical Center. She loved to sew, garden anything outside, crochet, work crossword puzzles, and play solitaire.

Mrs. Isbell is survived by son Truett wife Lindy Isbell of Ozark, Arkansas daughter Denese husband Chuck Kittrell of New Caney, Texas two brothers, Kenneth wife Oleta Dendy of Lubbock, Texas, and Jack wife Geneva Dendy of Portales, New Mexico and sister Imogene Monroe of Alamogordo, New Mexico 11 grandchildren 24 greatgrandchildren and 16 greatgreatgrandchildren

Mrs. Isbell was preceded in death by husband Denzel three daughters, Sandra Isbell, Cheryal Wilks, and infant Gloria Jean Isbell one sister Lula Mae Slavey and two brothers, Ed Dendy and Claude Dendy.

Visitation will be held at Chapel of Hope from 13 pm on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Funeral services will at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 24, 2014 at St. Pauls Methodist Church, with Pastor Ty Bean officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.
