Funeral services for Margie Lawson of Hobbs, NM will be held on Saturday, November 17,2007 at the Chapel of Hope Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. Scott and Courtney Hescht will officiate with interment to follow at Memory Gardens.
Margie was born on May 16,1928 in Los Fresnos, Texas to Jesse W. and Mary Raley. She went to her Lord and Savior on November 12, 2007 in Hobbs, NM at the age of 79. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Hobbs.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dee C. Lawson whom she married on December 31, 1947 in Carlsbad, NM. She is survived by three children, Jesse K. Lawson and his wife, Betty of Midland, TX, Candice F. Forga and her husband, Terry of Humble, TX and Randy T. Lawson and his wife, Diann of Hobbs, NM. She has 7 grandchildren, Kimberly Farr, Daniel Lawson, Courtney Hescht, Lynn Lawson, Andrea Schlueter, Kimberly Mahan and Danny Miller. Margie had 2 great grandchildren, Alex Mahan and Zane Hescht and her sister Polly Long of Hobbs, NM and a brother Jesse B. Raley of Fountain Valley, CA.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jesse W. Raley, mother, Mary Raley, sister, Lula Faye Patton and a son, Dee Lynn Lawson.
Margie was very artistic and her interests included flower arranging, pottery, watercolor and oil painting, quilting and numerous crafts. She was a member of the Piece Work Quilting Club of Hobbs. She loved to take classes and in the process made many life long friends. She was a wonderful caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who lived life to the fullest. Her favorite time was when her entire family was home with her and Dee.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 16, 2007 from 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with the family present from 5-7 P.M.
