Margarito Chavez passed away September 15, 2020, in Hobbs, NM peacefully at his home. He was 93 years of age. As a teenager he moved to Hobbs from Stanton, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Herlinda Chavez, his wife Trina, one son Robert; five brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include one sister, Leonarda (Jim) Williams, one son Michael all of Hobbs, NM, two grandchildren; Eric (Kim) Chavez, Raquel (Trennis) Stanley, six great grandchildren; Easton, Ayden, and Hunter Chavez; Gavin, Amelia and Karina Stanley, one daughter-in-law Bertha Chavez all of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces and nephews. Margarito was born June 10, 1927, in Stanton TX. He moved with his family to Hobbs, NM. When, he turned 18 he enlisted in the Army, after completing his tour he returned to Hobbs where he met Trina Mendez. They shared 60 years of marriage. His most memorable employment was the Hobbs Municipal Schools where he worked at Houston Jr. High School until his retirement in 1992. He was a lifelong member of St. Helena Catholic Church. Traditional Rosary, Mass, and Burial will be private.
