Our queen was called home September 12th 2019. She was born on February 22nd 1939, to Guadalupe Galindo and Hilaria Pena, in San Juan, Ojinaga, Chihuahua. Margarita worked for the Hobbs Schools for over 27 years. Most of those years were worked at Jefferson Elementary. She was loved and adored by everyone including, the staff and students. Our mother was also well known as, “the snow cone lady.” All of her kids (as she would call them), would be waiting to hear that famous Mexican polka music blaring from her red and yellow van. She was also known as Margaret “the jokester” who loved to make people laugh with her jokes. She loved to sing and dance whenever, wherever and in front of whoever would let her sing for them. She had a heart of gold and a beautiful voice.
Our mother never met a stranger, and she loved everyone. No matter who they were she was always there to help. She loved her home and working on her yard and house, it was one of her many prize possessions. She was even awarded home and yard of the month, oh how happy and proud she was. She was the hardest working woman we knew. She was dearly loved by everyone. Although, she had many her biggest accomplishment in life were her children; whom she loved unconditionally and with every ounce of her heart. She was surrounded by her kids and her family as she took her last breath of life on this Earth. She has now entered the gates of heaven to be with our heavenly father. She is survived by her significant other Eliseo Carrasco of Hobbs, NM, daughter Belia Sosa of Ruidoso, NM, son Ruben Carrasco/Weda of Kenai, AK, daughter Sofia Ramos/Eagle of Ruidoso, NM, son David Carrasco/Hope of Hobbs, NM, son Adrian Carrasco/Debbie of Lovington, NM, son Nacho Gomez/Jessica of Lake Jackson, TX, sister Lena Martinez/Mosses of Hobbs, NM, sister Lupe Lujan of Pecos, TX and honorary care taker Hope Dominquez, 27 grandkids, 46 great grandkids, 1 great great grandchild and a lot a lot of family and friends.
A special thank you to Hospice for all of their love and care for our mother.
And in the famous words of our mother, “See you later alligator, you gotta stay I gotta go, CHA CHA CHA!
