Funeral services for Ginger Gibbins of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at Chapel of Hope funeral Home with Minister Wayne Horton assisted by Minister Dennis Atherton officiating.
Visitation is 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday with the family in attendance from 4 - 6 p.m. at Chapel of Hope.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gibbins, 62, died October 24, 2009, at her home in Hobbs. She was born October 23, 1947, in Los Angeles, California. She married Billy Gibbins on February 25, 1991, in Lovington, New Mexico.
Ginger had lived in Hobbs since 1967. She had been employed as a case worker with the Welfare to Work and Head Start programs. Ginger enjoyed decorating for holidays, dogs and celebrating birthdays. Ginger's greatest gift in life was her family, especially watching her children grow and sharing in their activities.
She was a member of Taylor Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Gibbins of Hobbs; her mother, Margaret Zartman of Hobbs; her father-in-law, Lee Wayne Gibbins of Hobbs, a son, Jon Paul Coffey and wife Grace of Odessa, Texas; three daughters, Leann Wynn and husband Ricky of Hobbs, Christy Flores and husband Javier of Big Spring, Texas, and Lisa DeLeon and husband Nick of Midland, Texas; and four grandchildren, Anthony Scot Coffey, Taybor Flores, Aleasha Middlebrook and Hallie McCall DeLeon.
Ginger was preceded in death by her father, Edward, L. Douglas; a brother, Curtis Lee Douglas; her mother-in-law, Juanita Gibbins; and her step-father, Jim Zartman.
