Lydia Huerta

Funeral services for Lydia Chavez Huerta will be Monday, March 7, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Robertson officiating. Interment will be after services at Prairie Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 2011, 1 6 p.m. at Chapel of Hope.

Lydia passed from this life March 2, 2011, in Lovington, New Mexico. She was born July 15, 1953, in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Ms. Huerta was very dedicated to her family and loved being around them. She loved working and taking care of the elderly. She never knew a stranger. Everyone who knew her will miss her greatly. Lydia was a member of College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview, Texas.

Survivors include her husband of the home, Juan Huerta of Plainview, TX six daughters, Betsy Garza of Hobbs, Monica Reynolds of Duncan, OK, Andrea Blair of Anderson, MO, Vanessa Hope Taylor of Plainview, TX, and Sally and Rachel Huerta of Dodge City, KS sister Mona Hamlin of Lovington, NM 27 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Guadalupe Chavez and her stepfather, Andy Garcia.
