Lucia Lopez

A funeral Mass for Lucia Lucy Lopez of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2009, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Pedro Valdez offishy;ciating.

Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.

A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Wednshy;esday, January 14, at Chapel of Hope Funshy;eral Home.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lopez died January 12, 2009, at her home in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was born July 7, 1931, in Seguin, Texas. She married Valente Lopez.

Lucy raised 14 children. She worked at La Fiesta as a cook for 20 years. When Lucy was at home, she was always in the kitchen cooking for her family.

She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.

Survivors include six sons, Johnny Florez and wife Suzy, Santos Florez, Valente Lopez Jr., Mario Lopez, Daniel Lopez and Adam Lopez, all of Hobbs, New Mexico; four daughters, Mary Vasquez, Olivia Garcia, Corina Martinez and husband Pedro and Aurelia Lopez, all of Hobbs, New Mexico; many grandshy;children; many great-grandshy;children; many great-greatshy;grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Estevan Florez and Robert Lopez; two daughters, Adela Hernandez and Tomasa Aguilar; two grandchildren, Aurelio Castillo and Christopher Lopez; and a great-grandson, Omar Mojica.
