Louis Taylor Miller, age 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 28, 2010. A memorial service honoring his life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at Chapel of Hope Funeral home with Chaplain Elio Barrios officiating.
Cremation is under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas. Private placement of the cremains by family will be held at a later date.
Louis was born August 6,1932, in Mart, Texas, to Bert and Ella Mae Miller. While attending school in Mart, Louis worked for Littlepage Furniture Store and Funeral Home. Thus at the tender age of 12 he made the decision that his career would be in the funeral profession. Soon after graduating from Mart High School in 1949, Louis enlisted in the United States Air Force. He is a Korean War Veteran. Upon his honorable discharge, in 1953, Louis enrolled in Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in Dallas, Texas, where he graduated with a degree in Mortuary Science.
Louis is survived by his wife Patricia Hope Patti Miller of the home son Steven Taylor Miller and wife Laura, Stevenville, Texas stepdaughter, Kathryn Shelley, Midland, Texas twin brother, Lonnie L. Miller and wife Carol, Mobile, Alabama, sister, Tia Fugett, Duncanville, Texas sister, Patsy Gilfillan and husband Jim, Austin, Texas sisterinlaw, Janey Miller, Katy, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Louis will be remembered by many in special ways, hisgift of laughter and two of his favorite jokes How Do You Catch a Unique Rabbit and HoHoHo.
Services are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, Hobbs and Resthaven Funeral Home, Lubbock.
