Private graveside service for Loma Jean Wilson Lasater will be held Tuesday, Oct 1, 2013. Loma was born to Bill J. and Dessie Marie Wilson June 20, 1946 in Snyder, Texas, and passed away September 27,2013 at her home in Hobbs. Loma graduated from Hobbs High School in 1964. She married Steve Lasater on Oct. 24, 1970 in Juarez, Mexico. Steve Preceded her in death in 2005 and they are now reunited.
Loma receiver her masters degree from Grand Canyon University in 1993. She was awarded the Vateto Teaching Excellence Award. She retired from teaching at Edison Elementary after 21 years of service.
Loma loved the Lord, was an amazing mom,, grandmother and friend, and avid Hobbs Eagle fan, enjoyed painting, fishing, traveling, gardening and shopping.
Lomas family will have a gathering at Chapel of Hope Monday night from 57 p.m. to greet their friends.
Loma is survived by her sons: Darrik Lasater and wife, Molly of Midland, Texas, David Lasater and wife ash, also of Midland Texas. three grandchildren, Logan, Judd, and Ryder Lasater. Brother, Bill and Coy Wilson of Springfield, Mo. and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Steve in 2005, her father Bill in 1957 and her mother Marie in 1998. Services are under the direction of Chapel of Hope.
