Lloyd Shoults

Mr. Wayne Shoults, 69, died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Lea Regional Medical Center. He was born March 20, 1938, in Wichita, Kansas. He married Dorothy Davis on Dec. 26, 1957, in Seminole, Texas.

Wayne was a 1957 graduate of Hobbs High School where he played catcher for the Hobbs Eagles. He was a skilled baseshy;ball player. In 1955, he was the N.M. State Champion Skeet Shooter. Wayne was a member of the Hobbs Gun Club and considered an expert rifleshy;man. While serving in the U.S. Army between 1961-1963, Wayne was stationed in Greenland. Wayne was marshy;ried to his wife, Dorothy for 50 years. He worked for New Mexico Electric SPS for 45 years. He was a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows No.9, enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid golfer fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed reloadshy;ing shells. Wayne loved his family. Everyone will remember his laughter and smile.

He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Shoults of Hobbs, N.M.; two sons, Greg Shoults and wife Charlotte of Midland, Texas, and Lloyd Shoults of Hobbs, N.M.; a daughter, Stefanie Shoults Gomez and husband Robert of Hobbs, N.M.; a sister, Georgia Ray of Roseville, Calif.; a brother, Dr. Raymond Shoults and wife Sue of Arlington, Texas; a sister, Edna Shoults Walker of Midland, Texas; four grandshy;children, Matthew Wayne Shoults Gomez Wayne's namesake of Hobbs, N.M., Tracy Rather of Hobbs, Paula Smith of Hobbs and DeeDee Reza of Oklahoma; six greatshy;grandchildren; one greatshy;great-grandchild; and many, many friends, nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Alverda Shoults.
