Lloyd H. Lewis was reunited with his Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ on November 17 at the age of 92 in Fort Worth, TX. Lloyd was born on June 22, 1924 to Hardy and Virginia Lewis in Ralls, Texas. He graduated from high school in Floyd, NM. After serving in the U.S. Navy he attended Eastern New Mexico University where he found the love of his life, Marion Jelik. They were married on January 31, 1949 and moved to Hobbs, NM in 1950. He taught arts and crafts at Heizer for many years before retiring in 1989. He is still remembered fondly by many of his former students. Lloyd was an artist who enjoyed painting, turning pottery, constantly working on his home, and loved his rose garden. He enjoyed hunting, trout fishing, water skiing, tennis, and racquetball. First and foremost, Lloyd loved Jesus and loved sharing the good news of Christ with everyone he knew. The last few years of his life Lloyd was lovingly cared for by his daughter Maxann and husband Shane in Fort Worth. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Marion, daughter Lyn Adcock, grandson Christian Weeks, and half-brother Bobby Don Lewis. Survivors include his brother Bill Lewis of Seminole, OK, his son Karrel Lewis and his wife Connie, daughter Maxann Weeks and her husband Shane, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
