Loyd Gayland Black, Sr. of Hobbs, NM passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 1, 2015 in Carlsbad NM. He was born January 19, 1929 in Earth, TX to Bertie and Bula Black.
Loyd married Fairy Lee Hulse on February 28, 1948 in Muleshoe, TX. They moved to Eunice NM in 1952 where he became an employee for Skelly Oil Co. that ultimately became Texaco from where he retired in 1990. He moved to Hobbs, NM in 2003 and lived there for the remainder of his life.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge since 19? and member of the Church At Hobbs.
He is survived by: his wife, Fairy; son, Loyd Black, Jr. of Carlsbad NM; grandson, James Black of San Angelo, TX; grandson, Chad Black of Hobbs; grandson, Keegan Black of Odessa, TX, and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his brother, Thomas Black of Pampa, TX; his son, Tommy Black; his parents; three sisters, Ladell Flannagan, Laverne James, and Lavon Ward.
