Lindy Ray Durham, 83, passed away, November 13, 2016, at his home in Hobbs. Lindy was born June 10, 1933, in Jermyn, Texas to Ray Evan Durham and Anis (Matlock) Durham. He graduated from Jacksboro High School in Jacksboro, Texas. He served two years in the US Army, from 1953-1955, stationed in Germany.
Lindy came to Hobbs in 1956, working for Chemical Process. He later worked for Phillips Petroleum and Cathy Company Heating and Air-Conditioning.
He married Pat Griffin, October 24, 1962. In 1963, he opened his own business, Lindy's Heating and Air-Conditioning, and later Lindy's Auto Rebuilding. He retired in 2007.
He enjoyed playing his fiddle at the Higginbotham Jamboree, nursing homes, and for the senior dances in Seminole and Hobbs.
Lindy is survived by his wife, Pat, of the home; daughter, Tonya Ruth and husband, Johnny, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandson, Jarret Ruth, of Greely, Colorado; and granddaughter, Peyton Ruth, of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is also survived by two nieces; Gayle Briscoe and husband, Bill, of Graham, Texas, and Sondra Brumbelow of Dallas, Texas, and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Estelene Brumbelow, and brother-in-law, Marlet Brumbelow.
