A graveside service for Liliane Stout of Hobbs, N.M. will be held May 6, at Prairie Haven Cemetery at 11 a.m. David Stewart of Good Samaritan in Lovington will be officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stout passed away on May 3, 2013 in Lovington, New Mexico. She was born in Paris, France.
Liliane was preceded in death by her husband Lowell Stout. Survivors include her son Mark Stout and wife Cindy of Hobbs her daughter Georgianna Stout of San Raphael, California her grandchildren Drew, David, Derek and Bridgette Stout and a host of beloved friends.
Liliane was raised in Paris, France. Her family moved to Rouen, France in Normandy before World War II.
After the war, Liliane immigrated to the United States. Upon arriving in America, she soon met the love of her life and married Lowell Stout. They moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, where Lowell established his law practice with Liliane as his legal secretary. They built their office in front of their home so that they could be with their children everyday. Together they worked for over 50 years and established a practice that was one of the most respected in the state of New Mexico.
Liliane was known for her elegant, colorful fashion, her incredible cooking and her wonderful attitude. She was fluent in three languages and could cook everything from French coq au vin to quail.
Above all else, Liliane treasured her family, and she lived her life not for herself, but for them. She was a dedicated and beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Liliane was a joy and blessing to all who knew her.
