Funeral services for Letha Mae Lambert of Hobbs, N.M., will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday; Sept. 26, 2007, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Chappell officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.

Visitation is 10 a.m.-7 p.m. today with the family in attenshy;dance from 5-7 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time.

Mrs. Lambert, 94, died Sept. 22, 2007, at her home. She was born March 10, 1913, in Cumby, Texas. She married Leshy;laus Lamshy;bert on May 4, 1936, in Caddo Mills, Texas.

Letha Mae graduated from Easshy;tern State University in Commerce, Texas, with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1948.-She taught school for 44 years from 1945-1974, She taught mostly third grade at Southern Heights Elementary in Hobbs, N.M. She was a longtime member of Delta Kappa Gamma, past Woman of the Year for 1964-65 of American Business Women. Letha Mae enjoyed cooking, working with all kinds of crafts and working in her flower beds.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her adopted children, Byron and Fran Ritchie of Hobbs, N.M.; four nieces, Eloise Roberts and husband Gene of Hobbs, N.M., Linda Baker and husband Ronny of Garland, Texas, Suzanne Monreal and husband Darrny of Santa Fe, N.M., and Mary Kennedy and husshy;band J.J. of Boerne, Texas; a nephew, James Gene Collett and wife Wanda of Breckenridge, Texas; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death shy;by her husband, Lelaus on Jan. 1, 1978; a sister, Martha J. Collett in January 2006; and two brothers, Mayo Bishop on Feb. 17, 1984, and Gerie Bishop on Jan. 26, 1983.

The family would like to thank the nurses and care givers of VistaCare Hospice for all their loving care, espeshy;cially Dr. James Botts, Eloise Rodriguez, Rosa Tobar, Sonja Munez, Priscilla Maldonado, Yuecenda Maldonado and Diana Kyle.
