Lenora Barnett

February 21, 1928 — March 12, 2012

Lenora Isabelle Walker Barnett was born February 21, 1928, to Herbert and Ophelia Walker, in Konawa, OK. She graduated high school in 1944 and college in 1948 with a B.A. in education.
She married John Barnett September 4, 1949 and remained his faithful wife until his death on January 3, 1999. They moved to Hobbs in 1951 where they worked and raised their family.
They had 3 children: Mary Sue who died at birth, and sons John and David.
She worked as a freelance court reporter in Hobbs from 19551994 and was a member of Jefferson St. Church of Christ where she was active in teaching and other ministries.
She was surrounded by men and boys and supported them through all those guy things like hunting, camping, and sports without complaint. She was a sports fan right along with them and enjoyed going to local games with her husband and, of course, all her sons and grandkids games and activities.
She and John enjoyed traveling together coast to coast.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, husband, sister Mary Hobbs, and brother Herbert Walker, Jr.
She is survived by son John Barnett and wife Vicki of Hobbs, NM, and their children Luke Barnett and wife Traci and children Olivia and Nash, and Tyler Barnett and wife Stephanie. She is also survived by son David Barnett and wife Diane of Lubbock, TX and their children Whitney Cochran and husband Jordan and their son Everett, and Kenny Barnett and wife Megan.
