Lee Andrew Lavow, 79, of Hobbs, passed away on May 12, 2011. He was born July 10, 1931, in Sweethome, Texas, to his proud parents, Andrew and Virginia Lavow. He attended school in San Antonio, Texas. Later he moved to Eunice, New Mexico, where he met Shirley Ann Gardner they then married on February 27, 1956. To this union three beautiful children were born. Lee and Shirley later moved their family to Hobbs, New Mexico, in 1968. Lee worked for Ferguson construction for 17 years, Texaco Oil Company for 24 years and later retired. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, a Mason, the NAACP and a member at Pleasant Green Baptist Church. Lee was a loving husband, father and a wonderful provider for all of his family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Pleasant Green Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Cook officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Chapel of Hope with the family greeting the public from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Mr. Lavow is survived by his daughter Earma Lee Vaughns and husband Lance of Hobbs, New Mexico two sons, Willie Andrew Lavow of Dallas, Texas, and Artemus Lavow of Hobbs, New Mexico a grandson, Derick Leon Collins of Hobbs, New Mexico one granddaughter, Kountressia Rokel Lavow of Dallas, Texas three greatgrandchildren, DeQuan Durant and Adon Lee Lavow of Dallas, Texas, Cherlee Tynese Collins of Hobbs, New Mexico long time friend, Willene Smith and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
