Larry John Kight of Hobbs, NM passed away after a lengthy illness at Hobbs Health Care Center in Hobbs, NM. Larry was born in Fabens, TX on October 1, 1940 to John Calvin and Pauline Kight.
Larry lived most of his life in Hobbs where he attended Hobbs High School and met the love of his life, Patricia (Patsy) Ann Baker.
Larry graduated in 1958 from Hobbs High School. In 1960 Larry and Patsy were married, they spend 57 years together and raised three children. In 1968, Larry became a 32nd degree mason with Sprayberry Lodge in Midkiff, TX.
They have 3 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. His kids, grandkids and great-grandkids had a special place in his heart. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed, but not forgotten.
Larry was the biggest Dallas Cowboy's Fan and his favorite phrase was "shucky dern".
He was preceded in death by his parents John Calvin Kight and Pauline Kight, sister; Marilyn Skrilvars, in-laws; Alvin and Iva Baker.
Survivors include his wife Patricia (Patsy) Baker Kight of Hobbs, NM; daughter, Zan (Dale) Stout of Monahans, TX; sons, Jimmy (Susan) Kight of Concan, TX and Rusty (Anjelica) Kight of Lovington, NM, sister; Donna Lee of Hobbs, NM, brother; Mike (Vivian) Kight of Austin, TX, brother's-in-law, John (Pam) Baker of Hobbs, NM and Kenneth Baker of Cottonwood, CA, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Per Larry's wishes, no services will be held and cremation will take place.
