Kristopher Shade

A memorial service for Kris Shade, 22, of Hobbs is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 27 at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

The service will be conducted by Pastor Silva Alves.

Kris died April 17, 2010, at Lea Regional Medical Center. He was born December 6, 1987, in Hobbs.

Kris loved computers, guns, riding fourwheelers, fishing and riding jet skis. He was a member of the American Welding Institute.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Kenneth Shade and Lynn Steele of Hobbs mother and stepfather, Kimberly and Jackie Massey of Hobbs a sister, Allison Shade, of Hobbs stepbrothers Kris Steele and partner Tonya Heiser of Hobbs Todd Steele of Madisonville, Kentucky stepsisters Amy Steele and partner Benson Wall of Hobbs Shanna Valdez of Hobbs Twilla Massey of Wink grandparents Jackie and Bennie Griffin of Hobbs greatgrandmother Pauline Griffin of Hobbs stepgrandmother Sue Bennet of Hobbs aunts and uncles Ray and Susan Griffin of Vici, Oklahoma Kathy and Jerry Klipstine of Ft. Worth, Texas Pam and Cliff Reed of New Braunfels, Texas nephew Guage Fish of Hobbs six stepnephews and one stepniece and honorary father Lee Alves of Hobbs.

Kris was preceded in death by grandparents Pearl and H. D. Shade greatgrandparents Lloyd and Cora Pruett and Amos Griffin and an uncle, Scott Shade.
