Kenneth Wood

Kenneth W. (Kenny) Wood, 67 passed away October 3, 2016 in Hobbs due to complications from diabetes. He was born on May 8, 1949 in Snyder, Texas to Kenneth and Trudie Wood. Kenny graduated from Snyder High School in 1968. He was an Army Veteran and served in Vietnam. He married Althea on March 17, 1973 in Snyder. Kenny was active in the Snyder Volunteer Fire Department and the Knowles Volunteer Fire Department. He retired from Chevron and loved outdoor sports.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Althea of Hobbs; his mother, Trudie Wood of Snyder; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Stacey Owens of Hobbs; son and daughter-in-law, William and Holly Wood of Hobbs and granddaughter, Emma Wood and grandsons, Ethan Wood and Tyler Owens all of Hobbs. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth N. Wood.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Chapel of Hope at 9 AM with Mick Cavanaugh officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM (CST) in Hillside Memorial Gardens, Snyder, Texas. Visitation will be Wed., October 5 from 12:00-6:00 PM.
