Karen is known for being kind, loving and hardworking. She dedicated most of her life to the youth of Curry County, Clovis, New Mexico, as the Executive Director of Teen Court. Through her love for her program and her youth, many lives were changed, which is reflected by the outpouring of love and support that the family has received.
Karen was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and nani, and has spent all of her time since retirement with her family.
After retirement from Curry County, she moved to Hobbs, NM to reside with her husband, David. She volunteered with his Teen Court program and with the Desert Springs Nursing Home.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Vonda Ice, and her nephew, Christopher Ice.
She is survived by her husband, David Garcia, her children, Nicole and Steven; David’s children, Shenna and Aaron; and her grandchildren, Zhoi, Bryson, Leah, Layla and Daegan. She is also survived by her brother, Marvin and her sister, Cathy.
Karen was a Christian with a strong belief in God. Kind, loving Karen left this world with a memory and legacy that will never be forgotten.
