Karen Boyd

Funeral services for Karen Lynette Chapman Boyd, 48, will be Friday, August 27, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Chapel with Pastor Kenny Reed of Eunice officiating. Visitation will be Thursday August 26, 2010, 8:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m. at Chapel of Hope which is in charge of arrangements.

Karen passed from this life August 21, 2010, at her home. She was born February 23, 1962, in Hobbs, New Mexico. She married Jack A. Boyd on June 7, 1980.

Karen was born and raised in Hobbs. Her family was very proud of her for the two degrees she obtained at NMJC. She worked hard at every job she held. Karen loved and was loved by her family and friends. Her affection for children made her a very special person. In addition to her four sons, she was a mom to many young people who needed her love and a roof over their head. Karens grandchildren were an additional joy in her life. Her laugh was contagious. When Karen laughed, everyone laughed with her.

Karens love and laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving Ms. Boyd are four sons James C., Sean and Travis, all of Hobbs, and Johnathan Boyd of Lubbock, Texas her husband Jack A. Boyd of Hobbs mother, Lena Chapman of Hobbs brother Larry Chapman and wife Cathy of Hobbs granddaughters, Samantha Boyd and Mia Myers of Hobbs and Amber and Rebecca Boyd of California and her inlaws, Rosemary and Bill Boggs of Oklahoma.
