June Raines

Funeral services for June Raines, forever 39, will be Wednesday, August 10, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements. Pastor Joe Raines will officiate. Interment will be right after services at Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 9 at Chapel of Hope from 12 noon to 8 p.m. June died August 7, 2011, at Lea Regional Hospital. She was born in Santa Anna, Texas, to Ozzie and Margaret Cheek. She married Glen Raines, November 7, 1942, in Hobbs. She was of the Baptist faith.

June was a homemaker and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved animals and more particularly, deer and birds. Mrs. Raines loved the mountains, flowers, and she enjoyed casinos. She was a big shopper and her favorite things to buy were purses and shoes.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Raines of Hobbs a son, Dennis Raines and wife, Pat, of Hobbs two daughters, Darlene Hicks, and husband Buck, of Hobbs and Betsy Barnett, and husband James, of Hobbs 6 grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren and 3 greatgreatgrandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Winford Raines, two brothers and four sisters.
