Judy Gushwa-Singleterry 75, of Hobbs was called home on Saturday, February 1, 2020.
Judy was born in Clovis, NM on October 4th, 1944. She grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico where she graduated from Hobbs high school in 1962. Judy married David Singleterry in 2002. She worked at Gen’s Flowers and Gifts for many years before opening Judy’s Creations. Where she enjoyed creating gifts and arrangements for her many clients.
Judy was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. Her faithful love of God was evident in her life. She loved her church and church family. Her life was filled with joy and happiness and her struggles were taken with great poise.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents: John Gushwa and Edith Hill, husband David, and stepson Brent Singleterry, brothers Jerry Gushwa and Larry Gushwa.
Judy leaves behind to cherish her memory; her daughter Ginger Montigney and grandson Tyler of VA; brother Roy Gushwa of Mineola, TX; sisters Wanda (Steve) Hunt of Horse Cave, KY, Linda Rockwell of Mineola, TX, Martha Fotopulos (Andrew) of Clovis, NM. Special friends Norma (Sissy) Dean and Sandra Burrell Ables. Many special nieces and nephews and those “adopted thru love" children and grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Stephen Rockwell, Jerry Peninger, Adam Evans, Ethan Evans, Gary Peninger and Ray Ables.
Honorary Pallbearers: Roy Gushwa, Charlie Acevedo, Brandon Acevedo, Ronnie Stewart and Larry Hardiman.
Memorial Donations may be made in Judy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
