Juanita Millican

Juanita "JJ" Phillips Millican, born April 26, 1948, gained her wings on November 4, 2023. She is survived by her son Grady Johnson.

Juanita married Grady Haskell Johnson and they had two children Grady Haskell Johnson II and LaTeresa Renee Johnson Humphries. She later married Glendon Monroe Millican and thought of his four children Johnny Ray Millican, Johnny Glenn Millican, Brenda Marie Millican, and James Dale Millican as her own.

While married to Grady Johnson they moved to Dhahran Saudi Arabia where they lived until they came back to the United States where she had their son Grady. In later years she worked for Getty Oil Service on the gang crew and then worked for Texaco/Chevron as a pumper for 20 years. Following her oil field career, she worked at the Hobbs City Jail for 15 years as a detention officer and supervisor. We started a family business operating Mojo Concession Stand at the Zia Plex which she worked at and ran for the next 14 years. She lived a full adventurous life, loved her family and friends and never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her father James Claude Phillips, mother Audrey Mae Phillips, sister Dorothy Jones, brothers Archie Teague and I.G. Teague, daughter LaTeresa Renee Johnson Humphries, son James Millican, first husband Grady H Johnson, and her husband Glendon Monroe Millican.

She is survived by her son Grady Johnson and wife Sara, son-in-law John Humphries, son Johnny Millican, daughter Brenda Millican, son Karl Arp and wife Jenny. Grandchildren Triston Johnson and wife Shelby, Terran Johnson and wife Mireya, Makayla Tyree and husband Gaige, Makenna Humphries, Jacob Millican, Laken Millican, and Brittany Millican. Great-grandchildren Easton Johnson, Milena Johnson, Uriah Johnson, Zaylee Johnson, Angela Johnson, and Saige Tyree.
