Jovita Muela of Hobbs, NM, passed away Friday, November 3rd in Lubbock, TX surrounded by her loved ones.
Jovita was bone in Beeville, TX to Gilberto and Dominga Luna on February 15, 1950. She moved to Hobbs, NM in 1957 where she graduated from Hobbs High School. She met, and married Jose D. Muela on September 19, 1970. They had three sons together, Gilbert, Robert and Joseph. In September 2015 Jose and Jovita celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary with a beautiful vow renewal ceremony.
Jovita was employed by Western Motors for 20 years and was a nanny to Cloe and Colton, whom she loved like her grandchildren.
Jovita enjoyed knitting, baking, and going to the casino with her husband and brother. She loved spending time with her sisters. She also enjoyed tending her garden and nurturing her pecan tree.
Jovita is preceded in death by her parents; Gilberto and Dominga Luna, son; Gilbert Muela, grandchildren; Jeremiah and Dora Muela, brother; Ruben Luna, and nieces and nephews; Patrick Lopez, Lisa Tarin, Crissy Alvarado, and Jennifer Luna.
She is survived by her husband Jose, sons; Robert and Joseph, grandchildren; Dominic, Daniel and Aliya, brothers; Peter and Carlos, sisters; Martha, Lupe, Linda, Maria, Susie, Rosa, Modesta, and Terry, and many nieces and nephews.
Jovita Muela will be remembered as a woman of integrity, a loving and giving mother, grandmother and sister
