Joshua Jackson

Joshua Ray Jackson passed away on February 3, 2023, in Hobbs, New Mexico at the age of 33.

Joshua was born on April 11, 1989, to Donnie and Margarita “Maggie” Jackson in Austin, Texas.  He went on to graduate from Hobbs High School in 2007.

He enjoyed spending time with his friends, gathering with family including his son, Tyrone whom he loved as his own, listening to music, dancing, and caring for his animals.

He will be remembered by family and friends for his fun-loving demeanor, kindness, and cheerful smile that would light up a room.  Joshua loved the Lord and loved people.  He was the type to have never known a stranger.  With his loud and joyful voice, he made everyone he met feel welcomed and cared for.  Those who knew him recall his marked generosity; often giving food, supplies, and his own clothes and shoes to those in need.

Joshua’s capacity to love others extended to his beloved dog, “Girl,” who remained loyally by his side until the very end.  Just as in life, he will be buried with his “Girl” by his side.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Genaro Gonzalez, Sr., and Cecil Ray Jackson; grandmother Ella Mae Jackson; and uncle Albert L. Gonzales.

Joshua is survived by his fiancée Shanika; son Tyrone; grandmother Celia L. Gonzalez; parents Donnie and Margarita “Maggie” Jackson; brother Jaime (Nicole); sisters Phatima and Olivia; nieces and nephews; numerous aunts and uncles; and many cousins.
